2013 Super Bowl Odds Start With Patriots, Packers, Steelers, Eagles And Then Giants

Despite winning Super Bowl XLVI over the New England Patriots 21-17, the New York Giants are not the favorite to win the 2013 Super Bowl.

Who is? The team they beat.

According to the MGM Grand’s sports book, the New England Patriots are the favorite to win Super Bowl XLVII with 5/1 odds. The Patriots were the preseason favorites entering the 2011 NFL season at 9/2 while the Giants started with 25/1 odds. Not only are the team the Giants beat the 2013 favorites to win, but there are also three other teams with better odds than the Giants current 8/1.

The Philadelphia Eagles, who didn't even make the playoffs in 2011, have better odds at the 2013 Super Bowl than the 2012 Super Bowl champion New York Giants with 6/1, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the third favorite in the early betting lines. The Green Bay Packers are the third team with better odds than the champions, coming in with the second best odds at the 2013 game at 11/2.
