Giants Parade 2012: Super Bowl Champs Continue Celebration At MetLife Stadium

The New York Giants celebrated their Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots in style on Tuesday as the entire team made its way through New York City on floats as the spectators cheered the team on. The Giants Super Bowl parade started at 11:00 a.m. and it will culminate with the Giants receiving the key to the city.

Approximately one million fans were expected to attend -- and about a third of those from outside New York City. The city was expected to use 40 tons of confetti which is a lot but significantly less than the record when 5,438 tons of ticker tape when veterans returned home from World War II.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning were joined by New York officials such as Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Governor Andrew Cuomo. Manning was greeted with MVP chants as his float went down the parade route and there were various celebrities on other floats.

From the parade, the Giants will return to MetLife Stadium for a 3:00 p.m. rally.
