The Start Of A Feud Between Two Top Foes
The two have been friendly opponents for years, but during a press conference Sunday, Nadal criticized the 16-time Grand Slam player over the continuous debate about the tennis calendar, the exhausting schedule and the toll it takes on the ATP players.

In a Spanish interview during the conference, Nadal made it known that he would no longer be the leader of players’ complaints, stating it reflected poorly on him. Yet, he turned to criticize Federer for, as Fox Sports Latino wrote “letting other players ‘burn themselves’ by compalining about tour conditions while maintaining his good reputation as a ‘gentleman’ by rarely making negative comments about tennis.’”
Nadal went on to comparing Federer’s body (that plays “effortless tennis”) to a rose.
