Cole Hamels, Silver Slugger

Cole Hamels avoided arbitration with the Phillies, signing a one year, $15 million contract. There are incentives in the deal, like an extra $250,000 for winning the Cy Young.

↵He’ll also get $50,000 for winning the Silver Slugger award. Hamels hasn’t hit a home run yet, but he does have 10 career extra-base hits, good for a .189 slugging percentage. Assuming that every other pitcher in the league comes down with rickets, he has a pretty good shot.
