Announcing An Unforgivable Oversight Regarding The Baseball Player Name Hall Of Fame

Earlier this week at Baseball Nation, we proudly inducted the 2012 class of the Baseball Player Name Hall of Fame. Such legends as William Sucky, Moses Poolaw, Rich Lawyer, and “Foxy Grandpa” Bannon were immortalized at long last. But there is one name the Committee unforgivably overlooked:

↵Happy Mess. Played in 1917. For the Frederick Hustlers. Of the Blue Ridge League, which also featured teams such as the Piedmont-Westernport Drybugs, the Salem Friends, and the Elkin Blanketeers.

↵Mr. Mess, you are hereby and enthusiastically inducted. Thanks to Grant Brisbee for this monumental find.
