The St. Louis Rams hired Brian Schottenheimer as their new offensive coordinator, according to reports. With new head coach Jeff Fisher in the fold, the Rams moved quickly to fill out the rest of their staff and settle on a new coordinator to guide young quarterback Sam Bradford. It will be Bradford's third offensive coordinator in as many years.

The St. Louis Rams have hired Brian Schottenheimer to be their next offensive coordinator, their third in three years since drafting Sam Bradford.

According to Jim Thomas of STLtoday.com, Schottenheimer just edged out recently fired Raiders' coach Hue Jackson for the job. He was the offensive coordinator with the Jets for six seasons, serving under both Eric Mangini and Rex Ryan. He resigned from that role amid a tumultuous end to the season on and off the field, with infighting and bickering among Jets' offensive players.
He had reportedly been a candidate for the Jacksonville Jaguars' head coaching position before they decided on hiring Mike Mularkey to tutor Blaine Gabbert. Now, he will have the opportunity to guide another young quarterback who is looking to bounce back from an injury-plagued and underwhelming season.
