VIDEO: Winter X Games Competitors Pay Tribute To Sarah Burke
On the first night of the 2012 Winter X Games, the athletes paid tribute to Burke with a cool moment in the superpipe. As Burke’s family watched on, the pipe went dark, and the competitors slowly made their way down the darkened mountain carrying white lights.
ESPN also put together a very well-done video package on Burke ahead of the athletes’ tribute. Burke had won four X Games gold medals, in addition to numerous other accomplishments and honors in the world of freestyle skiing, from the pipe to the park.
