Earning all but two of the 65 first-place votes cast, the Kentucky Wildcats are the No. 1 team in the Associated Press Top 25 for the second straight week.

The other two No. 1 votes went to Syracuse, which jumped a spot from No. 3 to No. 2 this week. Ohio State, Missouri and North Carolina comprise the rest of the top five.

Gonzaga and Vanderbilt made triumphant returns to the poll, coming in at No. 24 and No. 25, respectively.

Kansas State (22) and Connecticut (24) each fell out of the top 25. The Huskies had been ranked in the last 28 polls, the sixth-longest such streak. The longest current run in the AP Top 25 is Duke at 90 consecutive appearances, a streak that dates back to the preseason poll of 2007-08.
