Before making any offseason moves to shore up their on-field roster, the Atlanta Braves have solidified the makeup of their front office for 2013 and beyond by awarding general manager Frank Wren with a contract extension through 2014 and promoting two other senior staff members.

According to team president John Schuerholtz, the Braves’ front office restructuring reflects the positive results on the field over the past few years, per a team press release:

“These changes are a reflection of the good work and success of our Major League baseball team and the work of Frank and his senior staff,” said Schuerholz.

John Coppolella, who has been with the Braves for six seasons, has been promoted to an assistant general manager position from his former job as director of professional scouting. Bruce Manno will remain an assistant general manager along with Coppolella but has also been promoted to vice president.

The 2013 season will mark the sixth season of Wren’s tenure as the Braves’ GM and twelfth year overall in the Atlanta organization. The Braves have made two postseason appearances in Wren’s five years as general manager, never making it beyond their first round of playoff action.
