Behind a focused effort from its primary players, the Boston Celtics carved up the Brooklyn Nets in an exhibition contest, 115-85, in their first visit to the Barclays Center on Thursday night.

The Celtics’ first trip to the Barclays Center was a blowout, as they came out strong and handled the Nets, 115-85, on Thursday night.

Boston jumped out in front early, building a 27-15 lead after the first quarter and scoring 32 points in the second, a game-high for one period of play. For the night, the Celtics shot 56.5 percent as a team from the field.
Both teams' starting units all scored in double figures, with Paul Pierce (6-for-9 shooting from the field) and offseason addition Courtney Lee (8-for-12 from the floor) scoring a game-high 18 points apiece. Brook Lopez led the Nets with 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor, while the backcourt pair of Deron Williams and Joe Johnson scored 10 and 11 points, respectively.
Jason Terry, another offseason pickup for the Celtics, drilled all five of his three-point attempts, accounting for all 15 of his points.
The Nets, after suffering their first loss of the preseason, will return to action Friday night when they host the Philadelphia 76ers. The Celtics will host the New York Knicks on Saturday night.
