The New England Patriots defeated the New York Jets, 29-26, at Gillette Stadium on Sunday in an AFC East contest.

The Jets got on the board first with a long touchdown drive in the first quarter. The Patriots tied the game up on the ensuing kickoff when Devin McCourty returned it 104 yards and a touchdown. The McCourty score was part of a 16-point unanswered streak by the Patriots. New England led 16-10 at halftime.
After the break, the Jets and Patriots exchanged scoring drives in the third quarter, but New England retained its 10-point advantage.
The Jets then scored ten in a row in the fourth quarter before getting their revenge on McCourty by forcing a fumble on a kickoff return that put New York in position to win the game. Ultimately, the Jets wasted the opportunity by only getting three points and allowing the Patriots to move down the field to send the game to overtime with a field goal.
The Patriots got the eventual game-winning points on a 48-yard field goal in overtime by Stephen Gostkowski. The Jets had their shot to win the game or extend it, but a Mark Sanchez fumble forced and recovered by Rob Ninkovich ended the game.
The Patriots improved to 4-3 with the win while the Jets fell to 3-4 with the loss.
Fantasy studs/duds: Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski hauled in two touchdown passes. He had six grabs for 78 yards on the day. Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley led all receivers with 120 yards on seven catches. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had 259 yards passing, threw for two touchdowns and had zero interceptions.
Odds/gambling: The Patriots were heavy 13-point favorites but could not cover the spread. The over/under for the game was set at 47 points, which was covered by Nick Folk's field goal with 1:37 to play in the fourth quarter. For more NFL odds and point spreads, visit SB Nation's odds page.
Injury info: Jets running back Shonn Greene left the game with six minutes remaining after taking a hard shot from Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes. Greene returned to the sideline before the end of the fourth quarter.
Next team on the schedule: The Patriots travel to London next week to take on the St. Louis Rams at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. Eastern. The Jets host the Miami Dolphins next Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern.
