The physics of baseball and Fox

There are a lot of things that we all love about Fox’s postseason coverage. There’s the super-slow-motion camera they employ, for one, but don’t forget about the ... okay, that’s pretty much it. But the super-slow-mo camera is pretty amazing.

And over at this page, we have a physics professor from University of Illinois breaking down GIFs of the slow-motion camera. Go for the GIF of Marco Scutaro breaking his bat into a million pieces, stay for the GIF of Scutaro hitting a ball right on the sweet spot with no recoil.
