Bob Costas offered minor-league broadcasting job

Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE

That sounds like a silly headline, but it’s dead serious. Apparently Costas once said he’d like to broadcast a full minor-league season, “immerse himself in baseball”, according to an interview he recently did with Joe Posnanski.

The Inland Empire 66ers of the California League took this at face value and offered him their play-by-play position, with perks!

the club has guaranteed that if Mr. Costas accepts, he will be entitled to all the hot dogs, soda, and popcorn that he wants. It’s just wacky enough that he might do it. How cool would that be?
