The Detroit Free Press published an article on Tuesday evening that -- were you not familiar with the FreeP before then -- might very well be mistaken for an item in The Onion.
The Detroit Free Press is apparently in the trolling business
Jeff Seidel of the Detroit Free Press wrote an article about the San Francisco Giants and their fans. He probably shouldn’t have.

The Jeff Seidel article talks about what a “strange baseball town” San Francisco is -- and by extension, how super-awesome Detroit is at being ... uh ... un-strange baseball? SB Nation unveiled its inaugural Troll Tuesday column this week and boy, we can’t even hold a candle to this piece. Seidel takes ineffective strawman trolling and turns it into an art form with passages like this one: And then they have a giant slide, which looks like a McDonald’s play station on steroids.
Yeah, the Tigers have a carousel. But carousels are cool.
Slides? That’s for a playground.
But that’s just the start.
AT&T Park isn’t a baseball stadium. It’s an exotic food court that happens to have a baseball field.
Mmmmmmm, that’s good one-sentence-paragraph newspaperin’!
On Wednesday, the paper proved that they're not some one-troll pony, as they churned out another World Series-related piece just as insipid as the first, on how to "sound like" a Detroit Tigers fan. Keep up the great work, Detroit!
