Tim Lincecum violates uniform policy, Barry Bonds visits Tigers

Tim Lincecum wore orange rubber bands on his glove wrist during his Game 1 performance, and the league took note. Before the game, Barry Bonds paid a visit to... the Tigers?

SAN FRANCISCO -- It’s a beautiful night here, and while I was on the field pre-game I came across a couple of items of note.

When Tim Lincecum entered Game 1 on Wednesday night, he was wearing two orange rubber bands on his glove wrist, and on Thursday was told it was a violation of MLB's uniform policy (namely, that pitchers can't wear anything on their arms when they pitch).

Both managers were reminded by Major League Baseball about the policy. Lincecum was neither fined nor given a letter, though players typically receive a letter when they violate the league’s uniform policy. Players are normally only fined after multiple violations.

Around 4:15pm, or roughly an hour before Game 1 of the World Series, Barry Bonds walked into the Tigers clubhouse, svelte and looking for his former manager.

Bonds stopped in Leyland’s office for about 15 minutes and also made the rounds in the clubhouse and talked to some of the players. He later watched the game from a suite.
