I’ve got to hand it to Oregon State. The Beavers saw an opportunity and took it, trolling hard on Twitter in the process. It all involved an immediately recognizable landmark in Seattle and a little Photoshop.
Oregon State is trollin’ hard
Did Oregon State really get its logo on the Space Needle ahead of this weekend’s game against Washington? Not quite!

A while back, the top of the Space Needle was painted orange. It’s quite similar to Oregon State’s orange, in fact. And the Space Needle has remained orange as a contest to determine a design for the top of the tower is held.
So the Oregon State Twitter account had a little fun. This is what they did:

And if that wasn’t enough, they followed the tweet above with a link to a live webcam of the Space Needle. Not a close-up shot, mind you, but one on Queen Anne hill, overlooking the iconic Seattle structure. In the live shot, you can see the orange top, but not any detail.

In reality, the photo tweeted by Oregon State was just a modified version of this. And while the Space Needle is orange, it’ll soon be painted in a tree design.
Still, it’s been kind of fun to see Oregon State have some fun with this season. From the whole In-n-Out thing to Beaver Juice to this latest stunt, Oregon State is milking its success.
Besides, Washington fans would never let the Space Needle be painted in a rival’s colors.
Whoops. That one was, in fact real.
