As the Giants have become the first team since the ’66 Orioles to register back to back shutouts in the World Series, we harken back to that long-ago event as portrayed by the good people at Topps. I’ve always liked the 1967 cards that depicted that series because of their television motif. It was as though Topps realized that an entire generation was now addicted to TV so they might as well acknowledge that.

One thing I never realized until now, though, was that the wood grain on the faux TV is gigantic. Let’s put it this way, if the wood grain on your TV was that big, you’d be distracted by it so much, you wouldn’t be able to concentrate on what you were watching.
