Jets vs. Seahawks final score: Seattle rolls over New York, 28-7

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New York Jets, 28-7, on Sunday at CenturyLink Field. Russell Wilson threw a pair of touchdowns for Seattle. Golden Tate caught one touchdown and threw another in the game for Seattle.

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New York Jets, 28-7, on Sunday at CenturyLink Field.

The Seahawks led the game from the second quarter onward but pulled away with a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Russell Wilson found Sidney Rice with a 31-yard pass with 13:38 to play and Rice was the recipient of a 23-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver Golden Tate with 7:59 to play.

Goldenarm

The New York Jets’ offense struggled throughout the game. Both Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow were used at the quarterback position. Sanchez took most of the snaps, but neither player led the Jets to any scores.

Fantasy studs

The Seahawks' defense shut down the Jets all game long. The lone score for the Jets came via a fumble return after a sack of Russell Wilson. Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. Despite the sack-fumble, Wilson was effective for Seattle with 188 yards passing and two touchdowns on 12-of-19 passing. Wilson also had 34 yards rushing on seven carries. Sidney Rice had a pair of touchdown receptions for Seattle for 54 yards.

Infirmary

There were no significant injuries for either team in the game.

But did they cover?

The Seahawks were favored by 5.5 points and had covered the spread before the halftime break. The teams did not combine to cover the over which was set at 38.5.

Up next

The Seattle Seahawks will travel to Miami to play the Dolphins on Nov. 25 after having a bye next week. The Jets will be on the road against next week against the St. Louis Rams.
