N.C. State vs. Clemson final score: Tigers outgun Wolfpack, 62-48

After trailing early in the second quarter, Clemson went on the offensive and scored six unanswered touchdowns.

The Wolfpack simply had no answer for Tajh Boyd. The junior quarterback was deadly on the ground and through the air in the Clemson Tigers' 62-48 victory over North Carolina State. With eight total touchdowns and 423 passing yards, Boyd helped his Tigers overcome some early struggles that saw a 24-13 deficit early in the second quarter.

Clemson continued to roll in the third, building a 55-24 lead late in the quarter. NC State quarterback Mike Glennon tried to make a game of it, but his 493-yard, five-touchdown effort came up short.

Wolfpack wide receiver Tobias Palmer caught three of those touchdowns from Glennon and totaled 219 yards receiving. His 77-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter was the longest play from scrimmage in a game chock-full of highlight reel plays.

Box Score Hero: Tajh Boyd. I mean, eight touchdowns. He had 102 yards on the ground to go with his 423 yards passing.

Rankings Ramifications: The No. 11 Clemson Tigers will keep their eyes on the Top 10 to see if any teams stumble this weekend, while North Carolina State goes under .500 in ACC play at 3-4.

But Did They Cover? Despite the big lead, Clemson did not cover the 17 points they were giving to N.C. State.
