Jets vs. Rams, Week 11: St. Louis fans frustrated with coaching staff

The St. Louis Rams lost yet again on Sunday and have now won just three of nine games on the season under new coach Jeff Fisher.

The St. Louis Rams (3-6-1) seemed to be well on the way to a big win over the reeling New York Jets (4-6), yet costly turnovers and coaching mistakes turned into a 27-13 loss at home.

The Rams held control of the game through the middle of the second quarter, an effort that included a blocked field goal and stuffed fake punt by the St. Louis special teams, before the tide of the game turned on an interception. Quarterback Sam Bradford's pass into the hands of linebacker Bart Scott gave the Jets new life, leading to 10 quick points in the final minutes of the first half for New York and the lead heading into halftime.

St. Louis never recovered, and the Jets waltzed to 24 straight points and a relatively easy win. The Rams, who started the season 3-2 under new coach Jeff Fisher, have now lost four of five games saw any hopes of a playoff season dissipate on Sunday.

Says Douglas M of Turf Show Times:

The Rams coaching staff was out planned, out adjusted, and down right embarrassed by one of the worst coaching staffs in the NFL. YES, I think Jeff Fisher has done wonders so far, but the number of mistakes this team makes every week fall squarely on in their laps. Fisher himself said in his TV show last week that a certain point, if a player keeps making mistakes, it’s the fault of he and his staff as much as the players. While the penalty numbers were down, the negative turnover ratio is climbing. The defense acts like a ship without a rudder at times, and the play calling by Brian Schottenheimer was flat out bewildering Sunday. Bad, bad-bad! If I were giving a single grade for the coaching staff as a whole today, it would be a D-.

The Rams next take on the Arizona Cardinals at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 25.
