Ravens vs. Steelers, Week 11: Special teams the difference in Steelers loss

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 13-10 loss gives the Baltimore Ravens a sizable lead in the AFC North standings.

In an expected low-scoring game, the Pittsburgh Steelers fell 13-10 to the Baltimore Ravens with special teams being the difference.

The Steelers held the Ravens without an offensive touchdown, but gave up a 63-yard punt return for a score to Jacoby Jones. Kicker Justin Tucker converted two of his three field goals and punter Sam Koch, arguably the MVP for the Ravens in the game, averaged 46.5 yards per punt and pinned Pittsburgh inside its own 20-yard line four times.

From Behind the Steel Curtain:

In a game with very few fireworks, Baltimore simply made a few more plays on defense, and the edge earned on special teams gave them the win.

With Ben Roethlisberger out, Byron Leftwich and the Steelers offense did all it could to muster points, but quickly stalled out after a hot start. Leftwich, however, didn't get much help from his receivers, including Mike Wallace, who fumbled after making a catch in Pittsburgh territory, leading to one of the Ravens' field goals.

Going forward, the Steelers won’t have room for error if they hope to make the playoffs with a wild-card berth.
