The No. 8 Kentucky Wildcats improved to 4-0 on the young season, routing the LIU-Brooklyn Blackbirds, 104-75, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Blackbirds (0-4) made it a game for the first fifteen minutes. Long Island matched Kentucky point for point throughout most of a high-scoring first half. Jason Brickman hit a layup to extend the LIU lead to three at the 3:58 mark leading into a TV timeout. The Wildcats would crank up the throttle at that point, finishing the half on a 15-0 run to turn the three-point deficit into a 55-43 lead. The Wildcats would extend the run to 18-0 to start the second half, and would cruise to the finish after that.

The Wildcats shot a blistering 68% from the field for the game. Alex Poythress and Archie Goodwin had identical 22-point, 9-rebound lines for Kentucky. Goodwin added nine assists. Nerlins Noel ended with an impressive stat sheet of 18 points, eight rebounds, five blocks, and five assists. Julian Bond and Jamal Olaswere both scored 22 for LIU.

Kentucky will next take the court on Nov. 29 at Notre Dame in the SEC/Big East Challenge.
