AFC West injury report, Week 12: Peyton Manning takes concussion tests

The Denver Broncos received a scare Sunday when Peyton Manning needed X-rays.

The biggest injury news in the AFC West is about one that almost happened.

Peyton Manning had to have an X-ray and then took concussion tests, which he passed, after taking a few huge hits against the Kansas City Chiefs. Manning was roughed up, especially in the first half, but all signs point to him not having to miss time.

During that same game, the Chiefs lost two valuable players in wide receiver Dexter McCluster and safety Kendrick Lewis. McCluster's ailment is being deemed as a head/neck injury, which most people feel is slang for a concussion.

Lewis had to leave in the third quarter with a shoulder injury. That’s bad news considering he had offseason shoulder surgery and missed time earlier in the year for the same problem.

The San Diego Chargers also lost a pair with safety Eric Weddle suffering a concussion and linebacker Donald Butler leaving the game in the first half.

In Cincinnati, the Oakland Raiders escaped without any significant injuries.
