Jordan Hill injury: Penn State DT hurts leg

Defensive tackle Jordan Hill left Penn State’s game against Purdue with an injury.

After starting every game for the Nittany Lions as a junior last season, Penn State defensive tackle Jordan Hill went down with an injury in a game against Purdue. Reports are of a leg injury, and his status for the rest of the game is in doubt.

Hill led the Nittany Lions in tackles in 2011 with 59, including 8.0 for loss and 3.5 sacks. He anchors a defense that allows just 18.1 points per game, good for 18th-best in the country.

Coming into his freshman season, it was unclear whether the Steelton, Pa., product would redshirt. But after seeing Hill perform in practice, the young lineman cracked the Penn State lineup in the sixth week of the 2009 season.

Hill was overshadowed on a national level last season by his All-American teammate, Devon Still. The former Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year was selected by the Cincinnati Benglas in the second round with the 53rd pick overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.
