Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had complained about soreness on his left side and had his ribs x-rayed after Sunday's 21-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers at FedEx Field, according to a report. The x-rays came back negative on Griffin's sore ribs.

Griffin absorbed two big shots during the game, one came in the first quarter as he was attempting a pass and one occurred in the fourth quarter when he was making a rushing attempt on fourth down. Griffin did not leave the game after either play. Griffin said about his sore ribs:

“I’m fine. I’ll be ready to go,” Griffin said after the game. “No one is ever going to question the fight I have inside myself to be the greatest and to help this team to victory. It doesn’t matter what it is, I will make sure that I continue to help my team win games and that it starts right after the bye.”

Griffin finished Sunday's game 23-of-39 passing for 215 yards. He was also second on the team in rushing with 53 yards rushing on 11 carries. While Griffin did not turn the ball over against Carolina, he was held without a touchdown for the first time since he was injured and left the game against the Falcons in Week 5. Griffin was also sacked four times by the Panthers.

The Redskins and RGIII will have time to heal as they enter their bye week before returning to action on Nov. 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
