NFL odds and lines Week 15: Chiefs vs. Raiders

Oakland hosts Kansas City as 2.5-point favorites.

Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE

When the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders take the field on Sunday, last place in the AFC West will be on the line. The Chiefs, at 2-11, currently hold the spot, but the 3-10 Raiders could join them with a loss. Despite the lack of playoff implications, the blood feud between these rivals should make this game interesting. As the home team, the Raiders come in favored by 2.5.

This is only the fourth time that Kansas City is not getting three or more points this season. They are 0-3 against the spread in the previous three games, with one of the losses coming in Week 8 against the Raiders, the lone game in which the Chiefs were favored. Jamaal Charles continues to run steady, gaining 165 yards in a loss to the Browns last week. But Brady Quinn leads a paltry passing attack that ranks next-to-last in the NFL passing yards, in front of only the Vikings.

The Raiders can air it out, but completely lack a healthy running game. Their ground attack is 30th in the NFL at just 81.2 yards per game, with guys like Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson unable to stay on the field. These issues have led to Oakland failing to cover spreads in six straight weeks, the latter five of them as underdogs. The Raiders have yet to cover a spread as favorites, having been beaten outright in all but one of their four failed attempts.

The Raiders won the previous meeting between the two, 26-16, back in Week 8.
