After a few frustrating weeks Drew Brees became Drew Brees again for an afternoon and the Saints were able to end the playoff hopes of a division rival. Brees passed for 307 yards and four touchdowns as New Orleans vented a lot of frustration in a 41-0 victory at the Superdome.
Buccaneers vs. Saints, Week 15: New Orleans Rolls
Drew Brees returned to form on Sunday.
As SB nation’s Canal Street Chronicles explains, the victory keeps some faint hopes alive for a playoff bid for New Orleans, but it is unlikely:
As usual, Brees spread around his touchdown passes to multiple receivers. Joe Morgan, Lance Moore, Darren Sproles, and David Thomas each caught touchdown passes for New Orleans. Mark Ingram was able to add 90 yards and a touchdown on the ground as well.
Defensively, the Saints were helped by a unit that picked off Josh Freeman four times. Jabari Greer had two of those interceptions.
