NBA Christmas schedule 2012: Prepare for basketball nirvana

Rondo was later suspended two games, a punishment that seemed relatively light at the time, and Humphries tried to poke fun at Rondo by posting this picture on his Twitter account. It’s safe to say both teams will have that incident on their minds as they do battle one month later.

These are the growing pains one can expect from teams with so many new parts, but the Nets entered the season with high expectations. There’s no time to flounder like this.

The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets get the Christmas Day party started for the NBA with a tilt at noon at the Barclays Center that pits two divisional and regional foes against one another.

Brooklyn will be looking to shake off what has been a dreadful December, including five straight losses to start the month and a 2-8 record in their first ten December games. Despite all that, the Nets are neck-and-neck with the Celtics as Christmas Day beckons.

The game marks the 14th consecutive year that the Lakers have played on Christmas, and the 39th time in franchise history. Kobe Bryant and company have haven’t been very successful at doling out holiday cheer to Lakers fans of late, as they’ve posted a 4-9 record in their last 13 Christmas Day games. The Knicks will be making a record 49th Christmas Day appearance.
