Avery Johnson Jr. is not happy with his dad’s firing

Avery Johnson was fired as the Nets’ coach on Thursday, and his son was not happy about it.

There is at least one report out there suggesting that the Brooklyn Nets' decision to fire Avery Johnson has met with some confusion within the organization. There are others suggesting that the move clearly came from owner Mikhail Prokhorov. It remains to be seen how accurate those reports end up being.

Here’s one thing that is clear, though: Johnson’s son is not happy. Here’s a series of tweets he sent out after the news broke.

Avery Johnson Jr’s account is not verified, but there are pictures from inside the Nets’ facility on it, so it’s clearly him. At least one of Johnson’s players also seemed shocked by the firing.

It remains to be seen if anyone else speaks out.
