Dallas Mavericks guard Darren Collison just tied his team's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a one-legged three-pointer at the buzzer after the Mavericks' inbounds pass went astray. Darren Collison and the weirdest buzzer beater you’ll ever see
Darren Collison just hit one of the strangest buzzer beaters in NBA history.
Why was this so weird? The following things led to that shot:
- The Mavericks' inbounds pass to Vince Carter was nowhere near him and got knocked away.
- Shawn Marion recovered and chose to dribble inside the three-point line with his team down by three points.
- Collison jumped off the wrong foot in order to get that shot off.
Nevertheless, the shot went in and gave the Mavericks new life after they blew an 11-point fourth-quarter lead. For at least a little while, we won’t need to talk about Dallas’ horrendous fourth-quarter execution. The Mavericks suddenly have new life.
