Tailgate Judgment: What did you eat and/or drink during game day?

Some prefer to sit and watch football with their hands neatly folded. Others attempt to eat and drink things while watching football. If you are one of these enterprising folks, tell us all what you ate and drank.

Scott Boehm

Hello, friends! This afternoon, we set about the business of TAILGATE JUDGMENT. If you’re new here, this is the drill:

1. You leave a comment below, describing what you ate and/or drank while watching football last weekend.

2. Time permitting, I will then respond by rating your food and/or drink on a scale of 1 to 10, and do my best to explain my ruling.

3. You will accept this judgment as absolute, empirically correct, and superseding of all federal, state, and municipal rulings.

I will start: I had a Reuben sandwich and fries at a local bar. Reubens are quite simple and difficult to foul up, but I reckon the ceiling for such a sandwich is only so high. I will rate it a 7. To drink, I had a couple beers, neither adventurous (a Guinness and a Southern Tier 2X IPA), and later I drank a couple glasses of wine. I am a rather ignorant enthusiast of wine, but I will award myself a drink score of 7.5.

A note before we proceed: if you haven’t, be sure to check out Spilly’s newest work of art. He has elected to tackle Louisville cuisine. It involves a caulk gun.

It is your turn. Be as nervous as you would like.

Friend, what did you have to eat and/or drink on Saturday and/or Sunday while watching professional and/or college football?
