On the 3rd of December in the Year of Our Lord 2012, this happened:

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced they have sold right-handed pitcher Brad Bergesen to the Chunichi Dragons of Japan’s Central League, according to D-backs’ Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

None of that “sold the contract of” or “traded for cash considerations” crap.

Flat-out sold, just like the olden days. We like our transaction terminology terse!
