The California Golden Bears will roll on with another coach - Louisiana Tech head coach Sonny Dykes - according to Football Scoop and Ron Kroichick. (Update: those reports have since been confirmed with Cal's official release to announce Dykes.)
Sonny Dykes to be next Cal football coach
The Louisiana Tech coach will take over for Jeff Tedford, who was fired after a disappointing 2012 season.

Cal fired coach Jeff Tedford after a disappointing 2012 season that saw the Bears go 2-7 in the Pac-12 and 3-9 overall. Dykes will also take over a program that has a 48 percent graduation rate, lowest in the conference. For more on the Cal head coaching search, check out California Golden Blogs.
With Cal athletic director Sandy Barbour in New York and Dykes in Ruston, LA, no press conference has been scheduled for the announcement.
Dykes, 43, was 22-15 in three seasons with Louisiana Tech, winning the WAC in 2011 with a 6-1 conference record. The Bulldogs played in the Poinsettia Bowl that year, just the fourth bowl game played by LA Tech since 1990. Dykes was previously the offensive coordinator at Arizona under Mike Stoops and wide receivers coach at Texas Tech under Mike Leach.
Tedford coached the Golden Bears for 11 seasons, compiling an 82-57 record. But he never reached the Rose Bowl and missed out on bowl season entirely in two of the last three seasons. Tedford was also infamous for being the highest-paid public official in the state of California.
