The Knicks will be without their leading scorer for the second straight game as New York plays Chicago tonight at the United Center, reports the New York Times' Nate Taylor. 'Melo previously missed Thursday's game against the Miami Heat, which the Knicks won despite the absence of their star forward.
Carmelo Anthony injury: Knicks forward out vs. Bulls
Anthony will miss his second straight game with a laceration on his left middle finger

Anthony's finger was cut in the waning minutes of New York's win over Charlotte, and declared himself out against the Heat after struggling to handle passes in warmups. Taylor, in talking to the 10-year NBA vet, determined that Raymond Felton's "hard passes" would be too much for Carmelo's finger to handle. Anthony will try the finger again in warmups tomorrow before the Knicks game against the Nuggets.
Carmelo is averaging 26.4 points per game on the season, good for third in the league behind Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. His season total is more than a whole point over his career average, and his 3-point shooting is up nearly 11 percent over his career mark.
