The Wichita State Shockers have lost only twice in the Missouri Valley Conference this season, with one of those defeats coming at Drake one month ago. The Shockers lost a triple-overtime thriller in what was likely the game of the year in the conference. On Saturday, the Shockers avenged that loss and closed out the season at 26-4 with a dominating 81-58 win over the Bulldogs.

The Wichita State Shockers completed their impressive season with an 81-58 win over Drake, and now head to the Missouri Valley Conference tournament as the No. 1 seed.
Wichita State is playing its best basketball of the season and spread the wealth around against Drake as five players scored in double figures. Ben Smith was hitting from downtown and led the Shockers with 18 points. He hit four of eight attempts from three-point range, and was the only WSU player hitting from outside. Big center Garrett Stutz did not have his best game of the season from the floor, but was a perfect seven for seven from the free-throw line and backed up Smith with 15 points. The Shockers dominated on the glass and Drake was never really in it, as Wichita cruised to the comfortable win with a double digit lead throughout the second half.
Gregg Marshall's club now heads to Arch Madness as the No. 1 seed and fighting for pod seeding in the Big Dance. Today on CBS, Seth Davis picked the Shockers as the likeliest mid-major team to make a Butler-esque run to the Final Four. With their season now complete, that postseason quest begins this week in St. Louis.
