On Wednesday, we enter Day 3 of the Animated Sports GIF Bracket, a 64-item tournament in which we vote to determine the greatest GIF of all time. Halfway through the first round, we’ve already witnessed some landslide victories, such as that of Rollerblading Raptors Mascot, who as of this writing is winning by a 948-47 vote. We’ve also seen massive upsets that have rocked the sports GIF world, such as Hot Sauce’s (not the And1 baller) death blow to Sad Browns Fan.
The GIF Bracket, Day 3: ‘Randy Johnson Hits Bird’ Begins Its Quest For A Title
The first round of the GIF Bracket rolls on to Day 3, and features such GIF legends as ‘Jim Thome/Delmon Young,’ ‘Brett Favre gets hit in the groin,’ and ‘Randy Johnson hits bird.’ Vote and help us decide the all-time greatest.
I regret to note that this tournament has also been marred with controversy. At the last minute, I pulled a GIF from contention that I found to be tainted, and hastily replaced it with another. The GIF I replaced it with, in which Nick Swisher somersaults into home plate, also turned out to be tainted, as it is looped in reverse.
The committee is still deliberating on what action to take. In the meantime, I would like to apologize to each and every one of you for betraying what the Animated Sports GIF Bracket stands for. I have failed a noble and cherished institution, and that is a sin for which forgiveness cannot be issued. This has been a very difficult time for me, as I have had to fend off allegations of allegiance with the Illuminati, among other things.
While the committee deliberates and I wrestle with my personal failures, the tournament must continue. On to the East region!
