Neftali Feliz, who is trying to make the transition from Rangers closer to Rangers starting rotation pitcher, threw three strong innings with good velocity against the Chicago Cubs at Mesa, Arizona Tuesday afternoon.
Neftali Feliz To Have Shoulder ‘Evaluated’
The Rangers righthander was rubbing his shoulder, so the team took him out of the game as a precaution.

It’s getting to be the time of spring training when starting pitchers go at least four, and possibly five, innings. Yet, when the fourth inning began, Feliz was on the Rangers’ bench. Why was this? ESPN Dallas:
Texas Rangers pitching coach Mike Maddux said he went to check on right-handed starter Neftali Feliz after the third inning of Tuesday's 6-2 Texas win over the Chicago Cubs (something Maddux does after every inning when he pitches) and saw Feliz rubbing his shoulder.
"He said it was tight, so we didn't take any chances," Maddux said.
Feliz was replaced by former Cub Neal Cotts, and later headed back to the Rangers’ spring camp at Surprise, Arizona for “evaluation”. Aren’t we all being “evaluated” every day? Maybe that’s a story for another place and time. It doesn’t sound very serious, but the Rangers obviously don’t want to take any chances.
