The Huffington Post’s Jeff Polman offers his 25 favorite baseball books. Top five:
Spring Reading List
↵5. Joe DiMaggio: The Hero’s Life (Richard Ben Cramer)
4. The New Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract
3/2. The Summer Game and Five Seasons (Roger Angell)
1. A Day in the Bleachers (Arnold Hano)
↵I love Roger Angell’s work, but one book would probably suffice for a list like this. And that slot would logically be filled by Ball Four, which Polman has somehow left off his list entirely.
