Louisville Associate Head Coach Richard Pitino will be hired as the next head coach at Florida International University, according to reports. As you can likely tell, Pitino is the son of Louisville head coach Rick Pitino. He rejoined Louisville’s staff an assistant to his father for the Cardinals’ 2012 Final Four season and was an assistant to Billy Donovan at Florida for two years prior to that. The website AllKyHoops.com first reported the hiring, with the Miami Herald’s David J. Neal confirming the news in South Florida.
