Tigers starting pitcher Doug Fister is on the disabled list with a strained muscle in his side, which has a scientific name it would do none of us any good to specify. He's been throwing, and he's eligible to return from the DL pretty shortly, but something happened that's going to set him back a little bit:
Doug Fister Sustains Non-Setback Setback
#Tigers not calling it a setback - but Fister cut latest bullpen session short because of abdominal pain. No way he's coming off DL on Mon.

It's not a setback, but Fister's return from the DL will be set back for some time. Got it. Thanks for the clarification, Tigers. The Tigers and Fister were hoping the discomfort would be a thing of the past, but it's still in there a little bit, and there's no sense pushing things now, in the middle of April. You don't want something like this to linger. Lingering injuries lead to lingering baserunners. Or no baserunners, because the pitcher can't pitch, because of the injury. Lingering injuries are bad.
The Tigers are off to an 8-3 start, and they lead the AL Central, so it's not like they need Fister back as soon as possible. Adam Wilk will keep Fister's rotation slot warm until Fister is healthy, and every part of this sentence sounds disgusting.
