The Arizona Diamondbacks haven't gotten off to the greatest of starts in 2012 — they're just 7-7 as of Saturday afternoon — and things aren't going to get any easier. The team announced Saturday that starting pitcher Daniel Hudson will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder "impingement."

The D-Backs are already without their center fielder Chris Young, and though Hudson was sporting an unsightly 6.00 ERA through three starts, he's certainly one of the Diamondbacks' best pitchers when healthy. His most recent performance was a two-run, 7.2-inning outing against the Pirates.

Arizona called up reliever Jonathan Albaladejo from Triple-A Reno to take Hudson's spot on the roster, MLB.com reported. Hudson's DL stint is retroactive to April 19, so, if all goes well, he should be back by early May.
