A lesser-known provision of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement is that a 26th man can be added to a team’s roster in the event of a doubleheader. Jared Hughes, called up specifically for the Pirates’ doubleheader against the Rockies on Wednesday, became the first player used under this new rule.
