Friday, Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson hinted that he might drop Josh Collmenter (0-2, 9.82) from the pitching rotation and replace him with someone from the minors.

Corbin entered this spring behind phenoms Tyler Skaggs and Trevor Bauer on the prospect depth chart, but Corbin's out-pitched his Mobile Bay Bears teammates; in four starts, Corbin's posted a 1.67 ERA, hasn't allowed a home run, and has a solid (3.13) strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Of course, these things can also hinge on when a pitcher's scheduled to pitch again; Corbin started for the Bears last Tuesday, giving him five days of rest before starting against the Marlins on Monday. Corbin, though listed at 6'3" and 165 pounds, relies on a low-90s fastball, along with a solid slider and change-up.
Department of Corrections: When first writing about Gibson considering dropping Collmenter from the rotation, I wondered why Daniel Hudson wasn't also a candidate for demotion. Hudson was already on the Disabled List, though; he went on the DL on the 21st with a sore shoulder. I just missed it.
