The 55th edition of the Illinois Derby will feature the largest field in the event’s history, with a field of 14 three-year-olds competing in the $500,000, 1 1/8-mile stakes at Hawthorne Race Course. The 14 entries will be joined by three additional eligible horses to bring the total to 17.
Illinois Derby 2012 Odds: Currency Swap Favored To Win
Currency Swap is in the fourth position and at 4-1, is the favorite to win on Saturday.
Horse Racing Nation notes that Currency Swap’s lone loss was to Gemologist, who is favored to win the Wood Memorial.
