Troy Tulowitzki Day-To-Day With Deep Leg Bruise

The Colorado shortstop is one tough player.

Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was on the top step of their dugout Monday night during their game against the San Francisco Giants, minding his own business, when his teammate Dexter Fowler hit a foul ball in that direction:

Tulo, as he as always done throughout his pro career, was standing on the top step of the dugout as the third batter due up. He never saw Fowler’s foul ball as it caromed off his left fibula, leaving him writhing in pain as head trainer Keith Dugger rushed to his side.At first, it appeared Tulowitzki might have had a broken bone in his leg. He actually stayed in the game, taking his turn at bat and hitting a weak ground ball to third base, which he beat out for an infield hit. That’s when manager Jim Tracy took him out of the game. Fortunately for the Rockies:

X-Rays were negative on the leg, leaving the all-star shortstop listed as day-to-day with a deep bruise on his fibula.

It’s unlikely Tulowitzki will play in Tuesday’s game. But that’s one tough player, legging out an infield hit on a severely bruised leg.
