The Miami Marlins' Emilio Bonifacio, who has played both center field and second base for the team this season, is having a below-average offensive season: .268/.351/.315 for an OPS+ of 84, although he is leading the National League in stolen bases with 20.

That number will have to go on hold for a while; Bonifacio sprained his left thumb:Bonifacio was injured Friday when he was thrown out attempting to steal second base in the fifth inning. It was the first time Boni was caught this season, snapping a 20-for-20 streak to start the year and 21 straight dating back to last season. Now, that injury is putting him on the disabled list:

After a slow start, the Marlins are 13-5 in May.
