Drew Sutton is a 28-year-old baseball player. He was selected by the Houston Astros in the 15th round of the 2004 draft and five years later, was sent to the Cincinnati Reds as the player to be named later in the deal in which Houston had earlier acquired Jeff Keppinger.
Drew Sutton Traded Twice In Two Days
Drew Sutton is a major league utility player who probably shouldn’t unpack his suitcase too often.
He played parts of the 2009 and 2010 seasons for the Reds as a utility infielder/outfielder, was waived in August 2010, and was claimed by the Cleveland Indians. They allowed him to leave as a free agent after that year; he signed with the Boston Red Sox, for whom he hit .315/.362/.444 in an admittedly small-sample-size 54 at-bats.
That wasn't good enough for Boston; they let him go at the end of the 2011 season and he caught on with the Atlanta Braves.
He didn’t make the Braves out of spring training; at Triple-A Gwinnett he was hitting .270/.374/.372 in 137 at-bats, including going 1-for-2 with a double on Sunday.
And then this happened, after Sunday’s game:
