Major League Baseball created the bereavement list for players who have a serious illness or death in their family and need to spend some time with family members during the season. Players can be on this list, usually for a minimum of three to a maximum of seven days.
Tigers Place Ryan Raburn On Bereavement List
The Tigers utility infielder/outfielder will miss some time over the next week.


Today, the Detroit Tigers put one of their players on this list:
Tigers have placed IF/OF Ryan Raburn on the bereavement list. INF Danny Worth has been recalled from AAA Toledo.

Raburn has split time between right field, left field and second base this season for the Tigers and is not hitting well at all: .144/.213/.216 in 111 at-bats. Worth was earlier recalled when Delmon Young was on the restricted list; he went 3-for-17 in 12 games, but is hitting .306/.386/.556 in 72 at-bats for Triple-A Toledo.
