The St. Louis Cardinals have had more than their share of injuries in 2012. It hasn't seemed to matter much -- they won again Tuesday night and remain in first place in the NL Central.
Cardinals’ Matt Carpenter Will Have MRI For Oblique Injury
The Cardinals could have another player added to their DL.

They might have lost yet another player; utility man Matt Carpenter could have suffered an oblique injury after hitting a double. Jennifer Langosch:
“I got to second and knew something wasn’t right, but I didn’t know what it was,” Carpenter said. “It scares you more than anything. As the night went on, it got gradually better.”
Carpenter will undergo an MRI exam on Wednesday to determine whether there was any tear to his oblique muscle. If not, he may be able to avoid joining six other teammates on the disabled list.
“There’s something going on there, but it might not be to the extent that we thought,” [manager Mike] Matheny said. “Hopefully, what the trainers are seeing right now is something we can get in front of.“Oblique injuries are tricky; at first, they might not seem serious, but some players miss up to a month with them. With six players already on the DL, the Cardinals can ill afford to lose anyone else.
