Adam Jones Agrees To 6-Year Deal With Orioles, According To Report

Adam Jones and the Baltimore Orioles have come to terms on six-year contract extension, a source told FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal. The Orioles are expected to hold a press conference Sunday announcing the deal.

The deal has been in the works for a while now. The Orioles are in the midst of a resurgent season, and Jones is a major reason why. Baltimore is still hanging on to first place in the AL East while the the center fielder is hitting .310/.353/.594 with 14 home runs this season.

Terms of the deal haven’t yet been disclosed, though Rosenthal reported Friday that deal could be in the $85 million range. Jones was set to hit free agency after the 2013 season. Assuming the new deal absorbs the one year left on his current contract, the 26-year-old should remain in Baltimore through the 2018 season.
